Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator with experience estimating U.S. construction projects, particularly within insulation, firestopping, or fireproofing scopes. You will be responsible for preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, reviewing construction documents, and producing competitive cost estimates for a variety of residential and commercial projects.
The ideal candidate has strong technical estimating skills, is comfortable working independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while supporting a U.S.-based construction team.
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for insulation, firestopping, and fireproofing projects.
Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to ensure complete project scope.
Estimate residential, commercial, tenant improvement (TI), remodel, and ground-up construction projects.
Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
Utilize estimating and digital takeoff software such as BAS-SPEED, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
Identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities for value engineering.
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure estimated accuracy and timely bid submissions.
Maintain organized estimating documentation and project files.
Manage multiple bids while consistently meeting deadlines.
Required Skills & Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3–6+ years of experience estimating U.S.-based construction projects.
Proven estimating experience in insulation projects is highly preferred.
Experience with firestopping and/or fireproofing scopes is strongly preferred.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following:
On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
BAS-SPEED (or the ability to quickly learn)
Bluebeam Revu
PlanSwift
Other digital estimating or takeoff software
Microsoft Excel
Experience estimating California or West Coast U.S. construction projects.
Experience working for U.S. subcontractors or specialty trade contractors.
Knowledge of fire-rated assemblies, insulation systems, and applicable building codes.
Experience estimating both residential and commercial construction projects.
