We're looking for a motivated intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Auckland. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing activities for spacecraft components from reaction wheels to propulsion systems.

Primary responsibilities include supporting production operations to meet customer deliveries, designing production tooling, writing work instructions for technicians, carrying out a variety of product testing, and investigating technical problems.

Key Responsibilities

We're looking for a motivated intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Auckland. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing activities for spacecraft components from reaction wheels to propulsion systems. 
This is an opportunity to work on real space technology projects and contribute to missions that are literally reaching for the stars. 
Support production operations, including optimisation of processes, tooling and equipment  
Assist with the transfer of tasks from the Manufacturing Engineering team to the Production team  
Assist with build and test of components, including problem-solving of faults and non-conformances  
Design production tooling and write clear work instructions for technicians  
Support Quality Assurance documentation to meet compliance requirements  
Collaborate with engineers and team members on spacecraft component manufacturing projects  
Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas 

Required Skills & Abilities

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline  
Strong communication skills with proven ability to write clear and concise technical documentation  
Can-do approach and flexibility to thrive when plans change  
Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team  
Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation  
Mechanical design experience  
Hands-on fabrication experience with a variety of processes such as metal machining and 3D printing  
Previous internship or project experience in manufacturing or aerospace  
Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing tools
