7 to 10 years of relevant legal experience gained within a leading law firm, an in house legal team, or a combination of both.
Strong experience advising on Australian consumer credit and financial services regulation, including credit licensing requirements and associated regulatory and reporting obligations.
Experience applying regulatory requirements to product development, launches and ongoing compliance.
Strong commercial legal capability, with experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial and transactional agreements.
Experience within fintech, consumer finance or broader financial services.
Commercial judgement and a solutions focused approach, with the ability to balance legal and regulatory considerations with practical business outcomes.
Confidence working with senior and cross functional stakeholders, building trusted relationships and communicating complex legal concepts clearly.
The judgement and confidence to raise risks and constructively challenge decisions while building alignment around a practical way forward.
Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality advice in a fast paced environment.
A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership, bringing solutions to the table rather than simply identifying problems.
A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
