Key Responsibilities

WPP Media is seeking a curious, organized Communications Associate to join its U.S. Communications team. This early-career role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of experience who can support corporate communications, content, thought leadership, social media, and media relations.
Working with the Communications team and partners across the business, this person will help tell the WPP Media story across internal and external channels, creating content that showcases our expertise, people, innovation, and perspective on the evolving media and advertising landscape.

The role offers a global aperture early in your career, with exposure to a global business, diverse markets, senior leaders, and some of the world's leading brands. We’re looking for a strong writer and close observer of culture and emerging trends, from entertainment and social platforms to technology, sports, business, and broader conversations.

Manage press relations, including evergreen stories, announcements, reactive inquiries, pitches, and media materials.
Build relationships with reporters and editors across key trade, business, marketing, and advertising outlets.
Staff media opportunities and support preparation for interviews and press engagements.
Identify and manage speaking opportunities, including conferences, panels, and thought leadership forums.
Support our industry awards strategy, from identifying relevant opportunities and potential nominees to developing and submitting nominations.
Coordinate social media and coverage reporting around key press moments.
Monitor relevant news and industry developments and share key updates with internal teams.
Partner with cross-functional teams to develop storytelling opportunities and support communications priorities.
Manage timelines, deliverables, reminders, and follow-ups across communications projects.

Required Skills & Abilities

4–6 years of experience in PR, media relations, or corporate communications, preferably in media, marketing, advertising, or related industries.
Strong relationships with key trade and business reporters are highly desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively.
Strong professional maturity, situational awareness, and judgment.
Familiarity with earned media, social media, and content amplification.

If you're a curious, culturally connected communications professional with strong writing skills and a desire to build your career in a global business, we’d like to hear from you.
