We are looking for a Manager, Credentialing & Medical Staff Services to build and lead a centralized function spanning multi-state credentialing and licensure, clinician onboarding, compliance, FPPE/OPPE administration, and related medical staff services.
This visible, high-impact role combines hands-on operational ownership with function building. The successful candidate will stabilize critical workflows, modernize systems, and shape the service model and team needed to support more than 200 healthcare professionals as Prenuvo Medical Group grows.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end primary source verification, credentialing, re-credentialing, initial licensure, and license renewals for in-scope physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, MRI technologists, and other licensed healthcare professionals across required states.
Partner with Legal and Clinical Leadership to define and maintain role- and state-specific licensure requirements, then translate approved requirements into documented workflows, controls, tracking, and escalation processes.
Maintain an accurate, authoritative healthcare professional roster and credentialing record, including documentation, application status, expiration dates, restrictions, and at-risk items.
Proactively manage renewals and conduct or coordinate monitoring of licensing-board status, sanctions, exclusions, and other adverse-status changes, as applicable.
Establish advance deadlines, controls, and escalation pathways that prevent avoidable lapses and maintain audit readiness.
Coordinate required training, attestations, certifications, continuing medical education requirements, background checks, fingerprinting, and other applicable compliance requirements.
Support internal and external audits and ensure required records remain accurate, complete, and accessible.
Administer FPPE and OPPE workflows by maintaining clinician-specific review schedules, sending advance reminders, tracking completion, escalating overdue items, and maintaining audit-ready records. Clinical leaders retain responsibility for evaluation content and decisions.
Lead the operational onboarding and offboarding lifecycle for healthcare professionals within the role’s defined scope.
Coordinate credentialing, licensing, required documentation, system access, training, and other readiness dependencies against accountable owners and target dates.
Establish onboarding checklists and service levels, remove bottlenecks, and escalate incomplete requirements before they affect anticipated start dates or clinical operations.
Establish and maintain an authoritative source of truth for credentialing, healthcare professional readiness, and FPPE/OPPE status.
Define data ownership, reconciliation processes, quality controls, reporting standards, and accountability across systems.
Design standardized and trackable workflows using credentialing platforms and internal systems.
Use company-approved automation and AI tools to reduce manual work, improve visibility, and increase operational reliability.
Measure cycle time, backlog, accuracy, readiness, service performance, and other key operating metrics.
Identify recurring failure points and implement scalable solutions rather than relying on repeated manual intervention.
Serve as the centralized operational point of contact for defined clinician administrative needs and maintain a documented service catalog, intake process, response-time standards, and escalation pathways.
Own and continuously improve healthcare professional reimbursement workflows, including continuing medical education, licensure, and other approved professional expenses.
Resolve practice-related administrative issues in partnership with Clinical Leadership, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Information Technology.
Standardize, automate, delegate, or enable self-service for recurring requests to create a responsive and scalable clinician-support model.
Partner closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to establish priorities, accountability, and operating standards.
Set submission deadlines and service-level expectations for healthcare professionals and cross-functional partners whose actions affect readiness.
Proactively escalate at-risk licenses, incomplete applications, healthcare professional non-responsiveness, and unresolved organizational dependencies.
Support expansion into new states and markets by ensuring healthcare professionals are operationally ready to practice.
Help define the future staffing model, technology roadmap, vendor strategy, and organizational structure for credentialing and medical staff operations.
Manage assigned staff, contractors, and vendors by establishing clear roles, priorities, service levels, workload allocation, and performance expectations.
Required Skills & Abilities
Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare professional credentialing, multi-state licensure, medical staff services, or medical group operations.
Direct experience with primary source verification, license renewals, compliance monitoring, audit-ready recordkeeping, and healthcare professional onboarding.
Demonstrated success building or improving credentialing systems, workflows, operational reporting, and source-of-truth records.
Experience operating in a complex, multi-state healthcare environment.
Ability to establish deadlines, influence healthcare professionals and cross-functional leaders, and escalate risks constructively.
Strong project management, analytical, communication, and operational problem-solving skills.
Ability to move between detailed workflow execution and higher-level program design.
Experience administering FPPE, OPPE, or comparable medical staff professional-practice evaluation processes, including tracking, documentation, reporting, and escalation.
Experience in a high-growth healthcare, digital-health, telehealth, or multi-site medical group.
Experience implementing or optimizing credentialing platforms, workflow automation, or AI-enabled operational processes.
Experience managing credentialing staff, shared-service teams, contractors, or external vendors.
Experience designing centralized medical staff operations or healthcare professional support functions.
