Key Responsibilities
Own the front door. Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AuthN and AuthZ at Life360, along with the systems that power registration, member access, session management, credential lifecycle, and CIAM integration, across mobile, web, partner integrations, and agentic connectors, spanning both the member experience and the services behind it.
Make recovery safe and humane. Design account management and recovery that gets legitimate members back in quickly, without handing keys to an attacker. Balance friction against trust, and treat recovery as a security surface, not just a customer support flow.
Stay ahead of attackers. Partner with Security on Enterprise Tech to anticipate account takeover, credential stuffing, phishing, SIM-swap, and social engineering of our support channels, and build layered defenses before they show up in the data.
Move beyond passwords. Lead our roadmap for passkeys, passwordless and phishing-resistant authentication, step-up and risk-based authentication, and device-bound sessions, and drive adoption without breaking the experience for members on older devices or in lower-connectivity markets.
Build for the whole world. Design identity for 180+ countries: phone-number-first behaviors, SMS and OTP deliverability and cost, regional carrier and device realities, localization, and regional regulatory requirements.
Earn trust with families. Handle the identity questions unique to a family product: teen and minor accounts, age assurance, parental consent, circle membership, and who is allowed to see what, in line with privacy and compliance obligations such as COPPA and GDPR.
Set the standard. Define company-wide identity and trust KPIs (account takeover rate, sign-in success, recovery success, time to recover, false positive rate, support contacts per account issue, passkey adoption) that let product and engineering move fast without second-guessing the foundation.
Make the invisible visible. Drive the telemetry, fraud signals, and detection approach so teams can see abuse, friction, and drop-off across the entire identity journey.
Translate security into decisions. Turn threat models, incident learnings, and identity data into sharp narratives for executives: where we're exposed, what it costs us, and where to place the bets now.
Unify the ecosystem. Partner with teams across the company, including growth, subscriptions, partnerships, and Customer Care, so identity decisions serve every product and integration that depends on them.
Required Skills & Abilities
10+ years of product management experience, including significant time at a principal or staff level with cross-functional scope
Deep, hands-on experience owning consumer identity, authentication, account security, or trust products at scale, ideally for a global consumer app with tens or hundreds of millions of users
Strong cybersecurity depth: you can talk fluently about threat modeling, account takeover, fraud and abuse, MFA, passkeys/FIDO2/WebAuthn, OAuth/OIDC, session management, and credential security, and you hold your own with security engineers and the CISO's team
Real empathy for members: you know that a locked-out parent or a worried teenager is on the other end of every flow you design
Full-stack product ownership: comfort with backend identity services and APIs, and equal care for the mobile and web experience, including login, onboarding, and recovery UX
Global mindset: experience launching and operating identity flows across many countries, regulatory regimes, languages, and device and carrier environments
Working knowledge of privacy, compliance, and standards that shape identity (e.g., NIST 800-63, GDPR, CCPA, COPPA); experience with minors' accounts or age assurance is a plus
Experience driving alignment across large, matrixed organizations, including Engineering, Security, Legal, Privacy, and Customer Support
Strong analytical instincts; you use quantitative data and qualitative signal to define what good looks like, run experiments, and hold the bar there
Excellent written and verbal communication; you distill complex security and technical realities into clear business priorities for diverse audiences
High ownership and bias for action; you identify the problem and mobilize the right people rather than waiting to be asked
