Drive the technical design, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of medium-to-large projects across our AI roadmap, guiding and collaborating with multiple engineers.

Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
6+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining production distributed systems, microservices, or complex full-stack architectures.
Demonstrated track record of technical leadership across multiple services or codebases, with practical experience or deep interest in LLMs, agentic patterns, evaluation pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or real-time streaming infrastructure.
Proven ability to author comprehensive technical design docs, evaluate trade-offs (e.g., latency, cost, determinism, maintainability), and make durable architectural decisions.
Track record of acting as a Tech Lead or Area of Responsibility (AoR) owner—successfully driving multi-contributor projects from ambiguity to delivery while navigating cross-team dependencies.
Passion for mentoring and coaching fellow engineers, providing actionable code and design feedback, and establishing long-term engineering best practices.
Deep empathy for the end-user experience, understanding how backend architecture and model behaviours directly affect user trust, interface latency, and workflow reliability.

To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $176,000 -$200,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
