Required Skills & Abilities
7+ years of progressive software development experience, with a proven track record of designing and building macOS (or iOS) features using Swift.
Deep expertise with macOS (or iOS) software environments, including design and performance optimization, security considerations.
Proven expertise in advanced debugging and performance optimization using Xcode, LLDB, and Instruments to resolve complex memory issues and concurrency bugs.
Experience in fast-paced agile environments, with a strong understanding of CI/CD and automated testing.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and influence technical direction.
Proficiency in leveraging AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate the development lifecycle.
Cross-Platform context with strong conceptual understanding of macOS (or iOS) security features.
Security Domain Expertise such as Cryptography, endpoint security concepts (e.g., Secure Enclave, Device Management/MDM protocols, and endpoint detection).
Understanding of Identity and Access Management protocols and technologies (e.g., FIDO, OIDC/OAuth, or similar modern authentication frameworks).
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure coding practices, and certifications like CISSP or Security+.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:
$194,000—$267,000 USD
Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
